Turn a review into a useful question
Before you trust a glowing review, write down what you need to know about the care behind it. A clear answer is worth keeping.
- Who would handle my assessment? Where is that person’s licence record?
- What is the exact medicine being proposed?
- What would I pay after any opening offer?
- Who answers when I need help after the visit?
Begin with a record you can check
A state medical board is the office that oversees doctors’ licences. Its public records show licence details and discipline, such as restrictions placed on a doctor’s work. What you can see differs by state (September 17, 2026).
- Get your assessor’s complete name before looking up their record.
- Find the doctor’s licence record and read any restrictions on what the doctor is allowed to do.
- A doctor’s record may show no public discipline, but that gives you no measure of the quality of their care (September 17, 2026).
